htmltofigma is a free tool that turns any website into an editable Figma design. Paste a URL, click Convert, and the page arrives on your clipboard as real Figma layers — text, images, icons, and auto layout — ready to paste into Figma with Cmd+V. No plugin, no sign-up, no credit card.

Why I built it

I got tired of taking screenshots and tracing over them by hand every time I needed a website design inside Figma. Converting a live page into editable layers is the fastest way to start a redesign, benchmark a competitor, or turn a real storefront into a client mockup — so I built the tool I wanted to use, and made it free.

How it works

The service renders the URL in a headless browser, reads the real DOM with computed styles, and rebuilds it as Figma objects. Because it uses the live page — not pixels — the result stays editable: headings remain text, photos remain image fills, and flex layouts become frames with auto layout where possible.

Honest about the limits

It is not 100% perfect, but it does most of the job. Complex JavaScript animations are captured as their rendered state, and you may need to delete a hidden overlay or apply auto layout after pasting. On most marketing pages, the cleanup takes minutes — not hours of rebuilding by hand.
